All new employees in juvenile detention receive initial training as part of orientation within the first (time frame) of employment and in accord with Oregon PREA curriculum.
Oregon selects a team of master trainers based on demonstrated training skills and regional representation. The master trainers are responsible for review and maintenance of the training curriculum and related materials, and for a train-the-trainers program offered periodically to ensure capacity for staff training in detention facilities across Oregon.
Training includes evaluation processes and documentation of training. Sample forms are provided.
